oneplus_3_002Ahead of the launch of the OnePlus 3T, it was noticed that the OnePlus 3 was listed as out of stock. This led to speculation that maybe the OnePlus 3 would be replaced by the OnePlus 3T. Given that the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 don’t differ that greatly in specs to be considered a massive upgrade, it made sense.

However the good news for customers who would rather get the cheaper OnePlus 3, you’ll be pleased to learn that the phone isn’t being discontinued. In a series of tweets by OnePlus, the company has revealed that there are plans to restock the OnePlus 3 handset, but for now no specific dates were mentioned. “Yes, it will be back in stock but no specific dates yet.  Keep following us. We’ll update everyone once it drops.”

At the moment we’re not sure if OnePlus has plans to drop the price of the OnePlus 3, which was priced starting at $399. As it stands, the new OnePlus 3T is priced higher at $439 for the 64GB model, and $479 for the 128GB model. The price difference of $40 probably isn’t so compelling, but should OnePlus decide to lower the price further between the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, it might just work out.
