boba-fettThe Star Wars universe is huge and over the years, we’ve seen and read a couple of spin-offs. The universe also plays host to many iconic characters, one of which is the bounty hunter Boba Fett. Granted the character didn’t exactly have a lot of lines in the movie, but yet somehow he has become one of the faces of Star Wars.

Now we’re sure many would have loved to see a standalone Boba Fett movie and it seems that we almost got one too. According to Entertainment Weekly, they learnt from a source that such a movie was in development and even had director Josh Trank attached to it. They were so close to an announcement that a teaser reel was prepared to be shown off at the Star Wars Celebration in 2015, but apparently Trank dropped out and the movie was never announced.

We’re not sure what has become of the movie and whether or not Lucasfilm is currently searching for a new director, but we’re sure that a standalone Boba Fett movie that tells of his story and adventures is something that fans would love to see, wouldn’t you agree? In any case we guess for now we have Rogue One to look forward at the end of the year.

Following that we can look forward to Star Wars: Episode VIII that will pick up where last year’s Episode VII: The Force Awakens. After that in 2018 there will be the Han Solo movie, and in 2019 we can expect the conclusion of the recent Star Wars trilogy.
