apple_storeApple’s Palo Alto store is pretty significant simply because it is the store that is closest to Apple’s HQ. In the past many Apple executives have been spotted at the store due to its proximity, and where from time to time they would show up for product launches. For example Apple’s CEO Tim Cook showed up at the store for the iPhone 7’s launch.

However it seems that recently the store has been damaged due to an overnight hit-and-run burglary. This is according to a report from The Mercury News in which a group of burglars rammed a rented SUV into the glass door, ransacked the place, and made their getaway. However it seems that some weren’t so lucky as the police managed to arrest four suspects out of the eight to ten that were involved.

According to Palo Alto police Sgt. James Reifschneider, “This was a pretty brazen act when somebody breaks their way into a business after hours and uses a vehicle to force their way into a store.” Those who were arrested include Shaquin K. Ferguson, 19, and Erica Jaynisha White, 18, along with two juveniles who weren’t identified because they were underage.

Apple has declined to comment on the matter and at this point in time, it is unclear as to how much the burglars have made off with in terms of value of the products stolen.
