Parrot-Minidrone-Mambo-07Drones are both useful and dangerous, more so especially if they are piloted by inexperienced users. Given their size, the weight, and the spinning blades, it is easy to see how when a drone were to fly into someone’s face the amount of damage it can do. Unfortunately that’s pretty much what happened at a wedding.

In a report from The Boston Herald (via PetaPixel), it seems that during a wedding the drone belonging to the groom Barry Billcliff accidentally fly into the face of some of his friends (former friends?) and caused some pretty serious damage. Kelly Eaton and Kneena Ellis are said to be using Billcliff over the damage which includes a broken nose, a broken orbital bone, and a gash to the head that required 20 stitches. Apparently both guests also suffered from a concussion as a result of the accident.

Both Eaton and Ellis are suing Billcliff and Searles Castle Event Management, although both the defendants claim to be in the clear. Billcliff’s defense is that he was not the one piloting the drone, while the management company says that they had already warned Billcliff about flying the drone, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

Either way for what was supposed to be the happiest day of his life, it sure has turned out to be quite a mess.
