samsung logo 5As it stands, the Galaxy S7 features a 5.1-inch display. The rumors surrounding the Galaxy S8 have suggested that Samsung could be thinking of going up in size and could offer up a 5.1-inch model alongside a 5.5-inch model. However the latest rumors have suggested that Samsung could be thinking much bigger.

If the latest rumors out of Korea are to be believed, apparently Samsung is looking at introducing a 6-inch display to the Galaxy S8. This would make the Galaxy S8 sport a larger display than the Galaxy Note series which traditionally had a larger display (and also kicked off the whole phablet craze). Assuming this is true, we have to wonder how big the Note 8’s display is going to be if Samsung wants to differentiate either handset.

That being said, the report from Korea claims that Samsung has apparently told its suppliers that they can start producing parts for a 6-inch Galaxy S8 Plus as well as for a 5-inch Galaxy S8. This is interesting as it sounds like Samsung could be ditching the “Edge” name for the Galaxy S8.

In any case there have been quite a bit of conflicting reports regarding the Galaxy S8 in recent times, and with Samsung looking to crack down on leaks, it’s hard to say who is right, so until then take it with a grain of salt.
