galaxy-s7-design_02Quite a few smartphone OEMs have been putting out smartphones with a dual camera lens, and for a while it was rumored that Samsung could be doing the same with the Galaxy S8. After all Apple had done so with the iPhone 7 Plus, and Apple is Samsung’s fiercest rival so it made sense for Samsung to want to one up the competition, or at least put themselves on par.

Unfortunately that may no longer happen because if the rumors are true, Samsung is apparently ditching the dual lens system in favor of a traditional single lens camera setup. It is unclear why Samsung is ditching the dual lens system, perhaps they decided that one camera is good enough and that having another doesn’t really add that much value.

Or maybe a dual lens camera won’t go with the design that they’re hoping to achieve. Either way we guess you should take it with a grain of salt. Note that it was never confirmed that Samsung would include a dual lens camera on the Galaxy S8. It was largely assumed simply because that seems to be the trend these days.

However prior to this, Samsung themselves did tease that the Galaxy S8 would have an improved camera, whatever that means. In any case if the rumors are true, would you be bummed if the Galaxy S8 were indeed to skip the inclusion of a dual lens setup?
