Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy S8 in February next year. The company has a point to prove with its next flagship following the unfortunate demise of the Galaxy Note 7. It’s expected to debut major improvements to the Galaxy S series with the next flagship. A new rumor suggests that the Galaxy S8 is going to have stereo speakers that will tout Harman branding.

In case you’re not aware, Samsung Electronics recently announced its intention to acquire Harman International for about $8 billion. This deal gives Samsung access to Harman’s connected car technology as well as its premium consumer audio brands.

One of the ways that it can set the Galaxy S8 apart from the competition is by offering high-quality audio with a brand that’s globally recognized as one of the best in the consumer audio space.

It makes perfect sense for the company to do this. It’s going to own one of the most influential players in the consumer audio industry and it can surely use its technology to improve the audio experience in its next-generation flagship smartphone.

Whether or not Samsung ends up doing that remains to be seen. This rumor comes from an unofficial source and can’t really be taken as gospel at this point in time. Samsung hasn’t confirmed much about the Galaxy S8 but since February isn’t that far off, we’re going to find out everything about it in the near future anyway.
