If you are the owner of a Google Pixel or Pixel XL smartphone and you’re realizing that your camera seems to be freezing up more often than it should, you’re not alone because it seems that Google has acknowledged that this is a problem that they’re looking into, and hopefully we should be able to look forward to a fix in the near future.

In a statement released to MobileSyrup, a Google spokesperson said, “The Pixel team is aware of the reports and actively working on a solution to the issue. We’ll update you as soon as we have more information.” In case you’re one of the lucky ones that aren’t experiencing this problem, basically this is what happens.

According to user reports, users are reporting that the camera app will display pink and purple vertical lines before freezing up. Thankfully it seems that this is a software issue and not a hardware one, which means that all it needs is a software update to remedy the situation. Unfortunately there is no word on when this update will be released, so we guess we’ll just have to remain patient and wait for the update to find its way to Pixel and Pixel XL phones.
