youtube-notifIf you were to go to pretty much any Google website and assuming you’re signed into your account, you’ll notice at the top right hand corner there’s an icon that when clicked will display notifications from your Google+ account. If you use Google+ frequently, then these notifications could come in handy, but if you don’t, it could be a waste of space.

However according to the folks at Google Operating System, they have noticed that Google could be testing out using that feature for YouTube notifications instead. What this means is that if you are subscribed to any YouTube channel and have enabled notifications, then instead of display Google+ notifications in the navigation bar, you’ll see YouTube notifications instead which could be more relevant for you.

Of course you will have to enable notifications for the channels that you want to be notified from in order to check out this feature. It also seems to be experimental at this stage and it is unclear when Google might fully implement these changes. According to Google Operating System, if you don’t particularly enjoy this feature, you can always clear cookies for YouTube and opt out of it, but what do you guys think of these changes? Does it make the notifications more relevant for your usage than before?
