ces2017_ch711_curvedmonitor_attachment_1If you’re in the market for new monitors, Samsung might have something that could be of interest to you. Announced ahead of CES 2017, Samsung has taken the wraps off their CH711 Quantum Dot curved monitor that comes in both 27-inch and 31.5-inch variants which you can see for yourself in the images above and below.

Samsung has over the years been pushing its curved display technology, whether it be for computer monitors or TVs, so this announcement doesn’t really come as a surprise. According to Samsung, the CH711 will sport a 1,800R curvature and an ultrawide 178-degree viewing angle. It also has a 2,560 x 1,440 WQHD resolution, so if you were hoping for 4K or higher we guess you might be disappointed.

According to Seoggi Kim, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, “Today’s multimedia consumers, quite rightly, have high expectations and demand a truly cutting edge, totally immersive experience that realizes the full potential of whatever they are playing or watching. This year’s line-up of curved Quantum Dot monitors offers brilliant design, richer color and deeper contrast than ever before. We can’t wait to share them with the world at CES 2017 in Las Vegas.”

Pricing and availability have yet to be announced, but given that Samsung will be showing off the CH711 display (amongst others) at CES 2017, we imagine that more information will be revealed then.
