samsung-powerbot-vr7000While the Roomba is a name that’s pretty much synonymous with robot vacuum cleaners, Samsung has dabbled in the technology themselves and it seems that come CES 2017, the company will have a new robot vacuum cleaner to unveil in the form of the Samsung POWERbot VR7000.

In terms of design, the POWERbot VR7000 doesn’t look too different from its predecessors or from the competition. However there are some improvements that have been made, namely to its size where it measures less than 4-inches tall which is said to be roughly 28% slimmer than its predecessors.

The VR7000 will be capable of generating up to 20 watts of suction power and will apparently be able to cover areas that might be harder or forgotten by more conventional vacuum cleaners. Samsung is also claiming that the device can get within 0.5-inches of wall, thus allow it to clean the sides and corners that might otherwise be neglected due to it being hard to reach.

The VR7000 is also said to be smarter where it can guide itself to dirty areas, memorize the floor layout, and work around obstacles and small objects. It can also be remotely controlled via a smartphone app, so even if you’re not at home you can get it to clean up. Pricing and availability have yet to be revealed but Samsung should have more details to share at CES 2017.
