super mario run
Nintendo’s latest mobile game – Super Mario Run – was first unveiled at the iPhone 7 event earlier this year in September. The game was released a few days ago and it’s exclusive to iOS for a few months. Super Mario Run appears to have gone off to a good start, players who have been hoping for additional content in the form of a paid or free DLC will be disappointed to find out that the company has confirmed it’s not developing Super Mario Run DLC.

A spokesperson for Nintendo has confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that the company is not planning to launch any additional content for Super Mario Run. This means that it won’t be releasing any free or paid DLC for the game.

It’s not like players can be faulted for expecting that DLC would be on the way, considering the fact that most games these days are supplemented with post-launch content, even if some developers don’t charge for it.

Even though the initial download numbers for Super Mario Run have been very impressive, most reviews on the App Store find fault with Nintendo’s business model for this game. The game itself can be downloaded for free but players have to pay $10 to access levels beyond the first few that they can play for free. The game is estimated to have made $5 million on its first day.

Nintendo has said that it’s going to release Super Mario Run for Android at some point in 2017.
