If you go to a hotel and you want something done, like a recommendation for a nearby restaurant, getting a cab, checking out certain events, you would go to the hotel’s concierge. However in the future, a concierge might not be as needed anymore, and Wynn Las Vegas seems to be heading in that direction.

The hotel has announced a partnership with Amazon in which it will see an Amazon Echo device placed in every single room of the hotel. While it won’t be 100% replacing concierges yet, what the Echo will do is allow users to control certain aspects of their room using nothing more than just their voice.

This will include the lights, room temperature, the drapes, and the TV. There are plans to introduce personal assistant functions in the future as well. All of this is expected to be fully operational in all guest rooms by the summer of 2017, so if you are planning on visiting Las Vegas, you could check out the Wynn if you’d like to see it in action.

According to Steve Wynn, Chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts, “The ability to talk to your room is effortlessly convenient. In partnership with Amazon, becoming the first resort in the world in which guests can verbally control every aspect of lighting, temperature and the audio-visual components of a hotel room is yet another example of our leadership in the world of technology for the benefit of all of our guests.”
