apple-watch-2-swimmingIn late 2016, Apple took the wraps off the Apple Watch Series 2. Not much was changed in terms of design, and pretty much all of the upgrades were made under the hood. So does this mean that the Apple Watch Series 3 will sport a new design as well? According to the latest rumors, the answer is no.

According to a report from the Economic Daily News (via DigiTimes), it seems that 2017’s Apple Watch is expected to maintain the same design as its predecessors. However the focus will be on improving the battery life and overall performance, something that we’re sure many Apple Watch users can appreciate.

In a way keeping the same design isn’t that surprising. After all this is a watch and even amongst traditional watchmakers, they tend to maintain the same design with minor changes for the same model over the years, so for Apple to keep changing the design of the Apple Watch every couple of years could have some customers feeling left out if they own the older device.

At the same time we guess some users might find it “boring”, but we guess that’s a debate for another day. The report is also claiming that the Apple Watch 3 will be launched in the fall of 2017, but until we see it for ourselves, take it with a grain of salt.
