adobe-optimizing-apps-chromebooks
Google has given Chromebooks the ability to run Android apps and to show that it’s very serious about this functionality, the company announced yesterday that all Chromebooks released from 2017 onwards will have support for the Play Store straight out of the box. However, just because Android apps can work on Chromebooks doesn’t mean they’re going to work well. Developers have to do their bit by optimizing their apps and that’s precisely what Adobe is doing for its six Creative Cloud Android apps.

Adobe has confirmed that it’s optimizing six Creative Cloud Android apps for use on Chromebooks. This includes the Photoshop Mix, Lightroom Mobile, Illustrator Draw, Photoshop Sketch, Adobe Comp CC, and Creative Cloud mobile applications.

All of these apps are available for download right now but adobe is launching a new beta program with Google through which it’s going to release the updated versions that are optimized for Chromebooks. The roll out will be through the same app listings so eventually, all users will get access to the latest versions that are optimized for Google’s web-based OS.

Adobe is yet to provide specific details about the beta versions of these apps so we’ll have to wait for that crucial bit of information. The company hasn’t really explained what will make these apps optimized for Chromebooks, hopefully, it will clear this up soon.
