As you might have heard, Apple has bought James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” segment which in case you’re unfamiliar, features Corden driving around in a car with a celebrity or two, interviewing them, and singing songs with them. It has proven to be a pretty popular segment and it even featured the First Lady Michelle Obama.

However it seems that Apple has decided to change the format of the show in which instead of Corden being the host and driver for every episode, it will instead see it mixed up in which every episode will feature a different celebrity and musician, or at least that is the plan for the first season of the show according to executive producer Eric Pankowski who spoke to Variety.

Will this work out? That remains to be seen, since part of the charm of the original series is due to Corden’s ability to host the show as well as conduct interviews, so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see how other celebrities fare in their efforts. Some interesting pairings have been revealed, such as Billy Eichner paired up with Metallica, and former NFL star and talk show host Michael Strahan paired with NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon.

There is still on word on when Apple plans to release the new season of Carpool Karaoke, but hopefully it will be soon.
