apple-tv-app-4Earlier this month it was rumored that Apple could be getting ready to make a big push into original programming with regards to TV shows and movies. If you’re wondering how true those claims are, it seems that during Apple’s latest financials, the company’s CEO Tim Cook pretty much confirmed that this something that they are looking into.

Cook did not go into detail, of course, but he did seem to suggest that this was an area that Apple is exploring. He was quoted as saying, “In terms of original content, we’ve put our toe in the water doing some original content for Apple Music, and that will be rolling out throughout the year. We’re learning from that and we’ll go from there.”

This shouldn’t really be that much of a surprise especially when you consider that last year there were reports that an original TV show was being filmed for Dr. Dre. Let’s not forget that Apple has also acquired the rights for James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” which while isn’t “original” since it’s been airing for a while already, it will now fall under Apple’s banner.

We’re not sure what else we’ll be able to expect later this year, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for it.
