If you’re someone who has grown up watching Hong Kong movies, there’s a good chance the name Daniel Wu might be familiar to you. Alternatively Wu has also been casted in AMC’s “Into The Badlands”, and if you’re a gamer, you probably know that Wu was also cast to play the role of Gul’dan in the Warcraft movie.

That being said, it seems that Wu will be cast in yet another video game movie. According to a report from Variety, Wu’s next role will be in the Tomb Raider movie where he will be playing the role of Lu Ren, a ship captain who will be help Lara Croft in her quest to find her father, with Alicia Vikander playing the role of Croft just in case you forgot.

The upcoming Tomb Raider movie will be a reboot of the movie franchise in which the role of Croft was played by Angelina Jolie. The rebooted movie is said to be based on the rebooted version of the game, which means that we can expect a grittier and younger version of Croft. At the moment both Vikander and Wu have been announced as part of the cast.

The movie is expected to see a release come March 16, 2018 so we still have quite a way to go in terms of waiting, but hopefully we’ll be able to expect a teaser trailer in the near future, and maybe a full length trailer by the end of the year.
