Samsung-Galaxy-S7-vs-S7-edge-02_900It has been suggested that instead of unveiling the Galaxy S8 at MWC 2017, Samsung could be choosing to launch the phone at a later date. We have heard rumors that it could be released on the 18th of April. This actually lines up with an earlier rumor of a third week April launch, but now the new rumors are suggesting otherwise.

According the latest set of rumors, word on the street has it that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S8 on the 15th of April instead. Interestingly enough the 15th of April is actually on a Saturday which is an odd choice for a launch, but as PocketNow points out, the Galaxy S7’s launch took place on a Friday last year, so we guess it is close enough.

Either way it does seem that the reports are very conflicted at the moment, but given that these are rumors it’s hard to say which is the real deal. We expect that Samsung will start pushing out teasers and invites to its event as the date inches closer, so for now we guess the best thing we can do is take it with a grain of salt.

So far rumors of the Galaxy S8 include an IP68 rating for water and dustproofing, and just recently Samsung released a couple of ads for its AMOLED displays that might have hinted at the phone’s design.
