samsung logo 5Following the recent leak of a photo that is allegedly that of the Samsung Galaxy S8, we’re sure some of you guys are probably wondering when the phone will be announced. The good news is that we might have a date to look forward to thanks to a recent post by Evan Blass on VentureBeat in which he revealed that the phone could be announced on the 29th of March.

This date shouldn’t be that surprising because if you recall, Samsung recently confirmed that they will not be showing off the Galaxy S8 at MWC 2017 which is taking place towards the end of February. We have heard rumors that Samsung has chosen to delay the launch of the phone a bit due to the extra safety checks that they have put into place to ensure that phones catching on fire will be a thing of the past, or at least as far as manufacturing defects are concerned.

Some users might be bummed out at a slightly later release date but we reckon that it’s not a bad thing to be extra safe. Plus we can only imagine that Samsung’s reputation probably cannot take another round of recalls since the Note 7’s recall is said to have cost the company at least $1 billion.

In any case take it with a grain of salt, but the 29th of March date is more or less in line with what we’ve been hearing, which is that the phone could be seeing an April release. Either way check back with us soon for more updates.
