apple_logoWe all know that driving while using our phones is a bad idea and it has potentially dangerous consequences. However some people despite knowing that still do it anyway. Now it seems that a class-action lawsuit has been filed against Apple in which they are demanding that Apple introduce a lock-out system to its iPhone.

The goal is to prevent drivers from using their phone while driving. This actually stems from a previous case in which Apple was sued for allowing drivers to use the iPhone while driving, in which it led to the death of a 5-year old girl. The lawsuit claims that Apple had actually come up with an idea to prevent the use of the iPhone in the car, but it was never put into place.

With this particular class-action lawsuit that was filed in California by MLG Automotive Law, it is asking that sales of the iPhone be halted until such a system has been implemented. According to MLG Automotive Law’s founding member Jonathan Michaels, “Texting and driving has become one of the most serious issues that confronts all of us on a daily basis. Legislating against drivers will unfortunately not solve the problem.”

Whether or not this class-action lawsuit will be successful remains to be seen, but we suppose having such a system in place might not be such a bad idea. If you want to read the lawsuit in full you can check it out below.
