acer-liquid-jade-primo-3Acer’s Liquid Jade Primo Windows 10 smartphone was launched just last year, but it seems that it will not be getting the Windows 10 Anniversary update that Microsoft has been pushing out to PCs and mobile devices since last year. According to Acer, apparently the update will result in the instability of the operating system, thus they have decided to not roll it out.

A company spokesperson was quoted as saying, “Unfortunately, the Anniversary Update for the Acer Liquid Jade Primo leads to instability of the OS. The current version is technically flawless and resilient, so we have decided after thorough consideration to refrain from an update.” It is rather odd since the update is all about improvements and bug fixes.

We should also remind you guys that Microsoft has another update in the works in the form of the Windows 10 Creators update, but given that Acer is already passing on the Windows 10 Anniversary update, we’re not sure if the Creators update will be any different. This is a bit of a bummer for owners of the handset who we’re sure were hoping to be able to see updates for the next 2 years or so, but unless Acer changes their mind that’s the situation they’ll be in for now.
