blackberry-mercury-ces-2017If you’re interested in finding out what new BlackBerry phones will be available this year, you might be interested to learn that BlackBerry has confirmed that there will be new handsets unveiled at MWC 2017. This is according to a recent tweet by the company in which they teased an announcement for the 25th of February, 2017.

This actually takes place a little before MWC 2017 but we guess BlackBerry wants to make sure it’s in the forefront of everyone’s minds before the rest of the MWC-related announcements drop. While the tweet was not specific about what will be announced, based on the teaser (see below), it seems to be a candy bar-shaped handset with a physical keyboard.

This seems to be in line with a leak from last year for a BlackBerry “Mercury” that looks exactly the same, and it is also in line with the phone that was shown off at CES 2017 earlier this month. However during CES apart from showing off the phone, quite a few details of the handset were not revealed so presumably we will be getting all those details at MWC 2017 next month.

The last handset that TCL launched was the DTEK50 and DTEK60. Those were full touchscreen handsets but if you’re more of a physical keyboard kind of fan, then the upcoming Mercury could be worth waiting for.
