Apple has touted the iPad Pro as being the perfect tool for artists, thanks to its large 12.9-inch display and the combination of the Apple Pencil. So far we’ve seen some pretty impressive works of art drawn up using the iPad Pro, with professionals at Pixar even giving their seal of approval.

This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that eventually a piece of art would be good enough to grace the cover of The New York, which is what happened with the latest issue of the magazine where the cover art was drawn by Jorge Colombo. Colombo used the iPad Pro, the Apple Pencil, and the Procreate app to put it all together.

According to Colombo, “After I procrastinate at my desk all day, I need to get out to get work done; so I go to a café, or to the library, or . . . to the Staten Island ferry. The ferry is a great place to work: there’s the smell of the water, and late at night there aren’t many people. It’s like being in a grand hotel lobby.”

As 9to5Mac points out, this isn’t the first time that Colombo has used his iPhone or iPad to design covers for the magazine, but those times saw him use  his finger as an input tool. In any case if you are interested you can check out the entire process in the video above.
