nightingale[CES 2017] The name Nightingale would most probably invoke the word “Florence” in most people, although bird watchers would probably prefer to check out their feathered friend counterpart. Having said that, the Nightingale is a smart home sleep system that has debuted at CES 2017, where this particular device is said to be the most advanced and effective sleep system available at the moment.

Specially designed by acoustic experts, the Nightingale will immerse an entire room in perfectly tuned sound blankets. Not only that, it will also mask disruptive indoor and outdoor noises so that the person in the room will be able to obtain a better quality of sleep each night. Nightingale can be integrated with different kinds of smart home products such as Hue, Nest, Ring and Google Home thanks to the popular IFTTT platform — and also boasts the versatility of being controlled through Amazon Echo.

The Nightingale will feature a couple of separate units which can be plugged into standard power outlets. Sporting a slim design alongside dual pass-through electrical plugs, it can fit behind furniture without too much trouble or reshuffling, and will not take up valuable outlet space to boot. One can control the Nightingale via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, thanks to the free Nightingale app, or through other compatible web browser.

The Nightingale is different from the other traditional white noise machines since it will figure out the bedroom type and acoustics, in addition to one’s personal sleep conditions such as snoring and tinnitus. From there, it will offer a suitable sound blanket for each individual. Other features include a custom scheduling feature, integrated multi-color LED nightlights and soothing nature sounds. Pre-orders for the Nightingale stand at $249 a pop as it ships from February onward.
