ojo-1[CES 2017] The OjO Commuter Scooter prides itself in being the ultimate two-wheel smart scooter, making its debut at CES 2017 with availability at retail some time in January. For those who live near enough to their workplace that they do not have to take public transport, and yet it is not exactly a stone’s throw away, the OjO Commuter Scooter would fit the bill perfectly.

The OjO Commuter Scooter can be used on bicycle lanes and does not contribute to greenhouse gas emissions, which should keep environmental activists happy. While it might look playful by default, the OjO Commuter Scooter is far from that, being capable of accelerating up to 20 MPH. Its internal battery allows it to bring you around for 25 miles thereabouts on a single charge, which should be good enough for a couple of days’ travel to and from work. It works great in urban settings, but if you live in the countryside where the infrastructure to get around might not be too good, then the OjO Commuter Scooter would suffer there.

The OjO Commuter Scooter sports a sleek, patented ergonomic design, in addition to a HyperGear motor and gear system that will help it handle steep hills as you get around. In addition, it has the ability to support weight of its rider up to 300 lbs, thanks to its unique heavy gauge all-welded aluminum chassis. It would be rather attractive to see a WWE wrestler on this, that’s for sure! Offering a stable, fun, smooth and easily maneuverable ride, the OjO Commuter Scooter adheres to rules and guidelines that the electric bicycle market complies with — meaning you do not need a license to ride around on this.

The presence of a patented on-board charger with retractable cord and plug makes it a snap to juice up the OjO anywhere, as long as it is plugged into a 110V wall outlet. A trio of speed modes allows the OjO to move you comfortably, and Eco Mode is meant for beginners, while Touring Mode will help to maximize distance on your ride. There’s no Ludicrous mode here, but rather, a Sport Mode for peak performance. The presence of an interactive, non-glare touchscreen lets you make your selection of speed, as well as check out current and historical distance, control lighting and sound, among others. If you’re feeling flush, you can add more options like dual integrated waterproof Bluetooth speakers, a voice response system, LED front and rear lights, and a USB port for charging phone.

The OjO Commuter Scooter will retail for $1,999 a pop and arrives in bright white, matte black, skyblue, rose gold, matte graphite, vibrant orange and a street art style.
