There are many RPGs being developed at the moment but if you’re a fan of how the folks at Black Isle Studios did the Baldur’s Gate franchise, Planescape: Torment, or the Icewind Dale series, there’s a very good chance that you might have heard of Obsidian Entertainment’s Pillars of Eternity which was launched back in 2015.

The game was met with a ton of favorable reviews and was actually crowdfunded on Kickstarter. If you’re hankering for more content, Obsidian is more than pleased to oblige as they have officially announced Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. Just like its predecessor, Obsidian has turned to crowdfunding once again to help fund their efforts.

According to the game’s description, “Eothas has returned. The god of light and rebirth was thought dead, but he now inhabits the stone titan that sat buried under your keep, Caed Nua, for millennia. Ripping his way out of the ground, he destroys your stronghold and leaves you at the brink of death. To save your soul, you must track down the wayward god and demand answers – answers which could throw mortals and the gods themselves into chaos.”

The project has been launched on Fig where the developers are seeking $1.1 million to help them complete the game. The game itself is priced at $29 as a digital download and Fig backers will get a special in-game item. From what we can tell from the screenshots, Obsidian will be maintaining the same style in terms of gameplay, except with updated graphics which looks fantastic.
