xbox one sWith the PS4 Pro having been launched, all eyes are on Microsoft to see what they will be answering with. We know that Microsoft is working on an upgraded Xbox One console codenamed Project Scorpio, and apart from the promise to run Microsoft games at a native 4K resolution, not much else is known about the console.

However it seems that it might be more powerful than we had thought, or at least that is according to Halo boss Frank O’Connor who posted on the NeoGAF forums (via Game Rant) in response to fans who were asking about the console’s abilities. According to O’Connor, it seems that the console is “beefier” than what he had expected.

“Haha, although I probably ‘know’ [what Project Scorpio’s specs are] in that I might have seen it in a slide or something, it’s literally not something I have time to think about now and I actually couldn’t remember whatever specs I’ve been exposed to even if I was tortured. I literally couldn’t leak or answer a question that went beyond, ‘Can I do this? Does it support that? How many of these could it render?’ What I do remember is that it’s beefier than I expected.”

Project Scorpio is currently scheduled for a release this coming fall although details are still scarce. Hopefully we will have more details at E3 this coming June, but in the meantime here’s hoping at O’Connor’s assessment of the console is accurate.
