resident-evil-7A popular way for developers and publishers to make money in recent years is by selling DLCs and season passes which are basically bundled DLCs sold at a discount, where they are cheaper versus buying them individually. What this means is that developers will continue to make money even after a gamer has bought the game.

While some developers are looking to do away with season passes, the same cannot be said for Capcom and the upcoming Resident Evil 7. In fact thanks to a recent sighting on Steam (via VG247), details of the upcoming season pass has been revealed, which from what we can tell includes additional footage of the game and an additional story episode.

The listing reads, “Purchase the Resident Evil 7 biohazard Season Pass and get access to the following additional content as it is made available. All Season Pass content will be available by December 31, 2017. Banned Footage Vol. 1, Banned Footage Vol. 2, Additional Story Episode”. It is unclear as to what exactly this “banned footage” includes, so we guess gamers will have to purchase it to find out.

No word on how much the season pass will cost, but the standard version of the game is retailing for $60 while the Deluxe version, which includes the Season Pass, is retailing for $90, so there’s a good chance it will end up costing $30. Resident Evil 7 will be released later this month for the PC, Xbox One, PS4, and also the PlayStation VR.
