Nintendo will soon release its next-generation gaming console called the Nintendo Switch in a couple of months. We’re gradually finding out more details about the games that will be available for it and the features that it’s going to offer. While Capcom has said that it may be interested in making games for this new console, it has ruled the Resident Evil release for Nintendo Switch, at least at this point in time.

It merits mentioning here that Capcom is one of the many development partners for the Nintendo Switch so it goes without saying that some Capcom games might eventually make their way to the Switch even if Resident Evil doesn’t.

Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata said in an interview with Express Online that the Switch is a “very unique piece of hardware,” and also confirmed that Capcom isn’t going to release Resident Evil for the Switch at this point in time. “I’m looking forward to the possibilities of the system itself, but we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch,” he said.

The next game in this popular franchise, Resident Evil 7, is due for release next week. January 24th to be precise. Resident Evil 7 will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Capcom has also confirmed that it’s an Xbox Play Anywhere title for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
