floodlightcam[CES 2017] A man’s home is his castle — but what is the whole point of having a castle in modern times if you do not have a good defense against the outside world? No doubt moats and ramparts are no longer in vogue, so what are your options? You can of course rear a trained guard dog, but it would also help if you had the likes of Ring’s Floodlight Cam installed throughout your property. Or simply have it in front of your front door or gate, it doesn’t matter. The Floodlight Cam from Ring will definitely add another layer of security around the home.

The Ring Floodlight Cam claims to be the most powerful security camera that is available in the market, where it can be installed in double quick time over at critical safety areas. This is a Full HD camera, which means details can be captured far better than the older security cameras that we see. Some of the features found in the Floodlight Cam include cloud recording, a very, very loud speaker for an outdoor camera of its size, a 100dB siren, 270-degree motion detection, smart LED lights and IR (night vision).

The installation process is said to be very simple, and it would not take much effort to get it up and running. You can even make use of your home’s current floodlight wiring, and it does not need to detect any motion in order to have the floodlight or video feed turned on. Users are simply capable of tapping into the live stream anytime they like, and turn on the light. Alternatively, you can use it with a schedule that has been set prior on your smartphone. Pre-orders for the Floodlight Cam are now open at $249 a pop, with shipping set to commence in early April this year.
