sandisk-flash[CES 2017] Flash drives are incredibly handy as they tend to be small, so keeping one on your person all the time isn’t that troublesome. This means getting files and transferring files to and from another computer is pretty easy, but if you’re the type that needs fast read/write speeds, then SanDisk might have something for you.

Announced at CES 2017, SanDisk revealed the Extreme Pro USB 3.1 Solid State Flash Drive. According to the company, this is apparently the fastest and highest capacity flash drive that they have ever created, and it is supposed to boast the performance of a SSD in the body of a compact and portable USB flash drive.

Apparently the device is capable of achieving read speeds of up to 420MB/s and write speeds of up to 380MB/s, which means that a full standard 4K movie should able to transfer onto the device in under 15 seconds. However given its speed and size, which is 256GB of storage, the Extreme Pro USB 3.1 will not come cheap.

It is expected to be priced at $180 and will be available from retailers later this month. Like we said it’s not cheap, but chances are if you need those kind of read and write speeds, you might be a professional who might be able to justify its price tag.
