snapseed-curvesIf you’ve ever edited photos on your computer, there’s a good chance that you might have turned to the use of the curve tool, which is actually a pretty powerful tool that helps adjust the brightness and colors of a photo. Unfortunately this is a tool that quite a few photo editing apps on mobile seem to be lacking, and Google’s Snapseed was one of them.

The good news is that in a recent update to the app, Google has finally added a curves tool to Snapseed, so if you hated having to swap between photo editing apps because some apps lack certain features that others have, and vice versa, this addition to Snapseed brings it one step closer to making it the default app for image editors on the go.

According to the announcement on Google+, “Curves gives you precise control over brightness levels and colors to shape the look of your photos. If you are familiar with Curves from desktop applications, you should be able to get started right away. If you are new to Curves, take a look at the many presets that come with the tool to help you stylize your photo.”

In addition to the curves tool, the update will introduce improved facial detection with the Face filter. Other aspects have also been improved upon, like the grain quality in the Black & White filter, and so on. The update should be live so do check it out if you are interested.
