street_fighter_balrogAs far as arcade fighting games are concerned, the Street Fighter franchise is probably one of the oldest franchises around. In fact in case you didn’t know, the franchise is close to celebrating its 30th anniversary, and in celebration of that it seems that Capcom might have a surprise announcement to share.

This is according to the game’s producer Yoshinori Ono who spoke to the folks at IGN where when he was asked how they plan to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary, Ono said, “Around E3 timing, maybe even San Diego Comic-Con, we have one or two surprises we hope our fans will look forward to.”

Note that E3 2017 will be taking place before the San Diego Comic-Con and will run from the 13-15th of June, where the SDCC will take place from the 20-23rd of July, so if nothing is shown during E3 then we guess we can expect something during SDCC. Or maybe there could be multiple or repeat announcements, either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information so remember to check back with us later on in the year for more updates.

In the meantime how do you guys think Capcom should celebrate 30 years of Street Fighter?
