Microsoft is reportedly working on a new iteration of Windows 10 that it’s internally calling Cloud Shell. Details about this iteration of Windows 10 are very limited at this point in time but it’s believed this is going to be geared towards lightweight devices like the Surface RT.

According to the report, Microsoft is working on Windows 10 Cloud which is a lightweight version of its full OS. It does make sense for the company to go ahead with this project particularly when you consider the fact that full Windows 10 support for ARM-based devices has now been confirmed.

This obviously leaves the future of Windows 10 Mobile in doubt given that ARM-based devices will soon be able to run the full Windows 10 experience. No major details have been confirmed about this iteration as yet but it’s speculated that Windows 10 Cloud just might be a tweaked version of Windows 10 Mobile for lightweight devices offering a fast user experience with low specs.

Microsoft has not said anything about this iteration of Windows 10 at this point in time so all we have to go on right now is pure speculation. The report does suggest that Windows 10 Cloud might be made public at some point later this year but until we know more from the horse’s mouth, it would be best to take all of this with a grain of salt.
