With every iPhone model released and regardless of the model, such as different storage sizes or “Plus” variants, Apple has kept the materials the same between the models. This means that if you buy the iPhone 7, it will feature the same materials as the iPhone 7 Plus, and vice versa. However that could change with 2017’s iPhone.

According to a report from DigiTimes (via MacRumors), it seems that Apple’s 2017 iPhone models could feature different build materials across the board. According to the rumors, there will be a 4.7-inch iPhone model that will use an aluminum frame, followed by a 5.5-inch model whose build materials weren’t specified.

Then they are also claiming Apple will introduce a third iPhone model in the form of a 5.8-inch iPhone where it will have a glass casing and a stainless steel frame. This particular design has been rumored about in the past, but it was largely assumed that the design would be applied to all the iPhone models.

The report is also claiming that this 5.8-inch model is the version that will sport an OLED display, which is why it could cost upwards of $1,000. As it stands it certainly sounds like the iPhone rumors are all over the place so take it with a grain of salt for now.
