Google was supposed to launch Android Wear 2.0 last year but it decided to delay the release of its next major platform update to early 2017. The company wanted more time to polish the update before sending it out to the public. Recent reports have suggested that two new smartwatches that LG has made in collaboration with Google will also be released alongside Android Wear 2.0. A new report claims that the Android Wear 2.0 release will now take place earlier than previously suggested.

It was previously reported that Android Wear 2.0 and the two LG smartwatches will be released on February 9th. LG was also said to give prominent placement to the new smartwatches at Mobile World Congress 2017 later this month.

Infamous Twitter leakster @evleaks now claims that the LG Watch Style and Watch Sport smartwatches will be launched alongside Android Wear 2.0 on February 8th. Apparently the release has been moved up by one day for reasons not explained by the leakster.

I should mention here that Google has not yet confirmed a release date for Android Wear 2.0 and LG hasn’t even acknowledged the existence of new smartwatches. It’s likely that an official announcement may be made soon considering the fact that February 8th is this Wednesday.
