Beyoncé is someone who needs no introduction. A superstar in her own right, when she talks, her fans pay close attention. All it took for her to smash the most-liked Instagram record was a picture of herself and a revelation that has got people all over the world talking. She has broken the previous record for the most-liked post on Instagram which was held by another singer-songwriter, Selena Gomez.
Beyoncé has close to 93 million followers on the Facebook-owned social network. That’s an enviable audience and she captivated them with a picture of herself surrounded by flowers. It wasn’t the picture that got everyone talking, though. She revealed via Instagram that she’s pregnant with twins. That’s what caused the picture to become viral instantly and bring in more than 8 million likes in just under 24 hours.
She has broken Gomez’s record by more than 1.3 million likes. The main difference between their posts is that Gomez’s record was for a sponsored Coca-Cola post while Beyoncé shared something deeply personal with the world through Instagram and her fans have responded in kind.
Her post has also received significantly more comments than that of Gomez. It’s close to 400,000 comments now compared to the almost 260,000 that Gomez got. It’s incredible, to say the least.
