We’re not sure if it’s intentional, but so far Blizzard has done a pretty good job at misleading Overwatch gamers when it comes to guessing who the next playable hero will be. For example many had assumed Sombra would be the first new hero, but it turned out to be Ana. Recently many had speculated that Doomfist could also be added, but it turns out that isn’t the case.

Overwatch’s director Jeff Kaplan had previously hinted that the community was wrong in guessing that it was Doomfist, and a recent post on the Overwatch website seems to have confirmed it. The post in question is a fictional interview with a character named Efi Oladele, who seems to be something of a child genius.

According to Blizzard’s fictional character biography, “In the last year, she’s built a resume of impressive achievements in robotics and artificial intelligence, but perhaps most remarkably is that she’s done all of this by the age of eleven. Last month, she became the most recent recipient of the Adawe Foundation’s prestigious ‘genius grant,’ in recognition of her many accomplishments. She is undoubtedly someone whose career will be watched with great interest.”

Now there’s no guarantee that just because she was featured that she could be next, but then the question is, why bother going to all these lengths if it isn’t going to be her, right? In any case we guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens, but for now Efi Oladele is starting to look like a very promising candidate.
