There have been a lot of reports recently about Facebook’s original content ambitions and some recent moves that it has made give the impression that the company is indeed serious about making its own original video content. The company has now hired a former MTV executive who is going to be working on the social network’s scripted and unscripted content efforts. The former MTV executive, Mina Lefevre, has ample experience with such content.

Deadline reports that Mina Lefevre has been hired by Facebook to be its Head of Development. She will be in charge of the company’s efforts to create scripted and unscripted content.

As previously mentioned, she has ample experience in this space as she was previously the executive vice president and head of scripted development over at MTV. She has worked on shows like Scream, Teen Wolf, and Awkward.

Lefevre herself confirmed her new job later on Facebook so now we know that she will indeed by the Head of Development at Facebook. “I have always been drawn to the idea of building something and the idea of being part of the team that helps build Facebook’s original content ecosystem…well, that just seems like a dream!,” she wrote in her Facebook post.

It will certainly be interesting to see what she creates over at Facebook. We should find out in the coming months.
