If you use Facebook on your mobile, you know that the company has a feature in the form of “Weather greetings” in which at the top of your News Feed, it will display today’s weather in the area that you are in. However it seems that isn’t enough for the company because a report from TechCrunch has revealed that Facebook is expanding its efforts.

It is no secret that Facebook wants to be your one and only stop for everything, such as catching up with friends, for work, for events, for shopping, so it’s no surprise that Facebook also wants to become your only destination for weather information. The company has confirmed that they are now rolling out a full-fledged weather tool for its mobile app and desktop website.

As you can see in the screenshot to the right, users will now be able to pull up more weather information than compared to the past, where it only provided users with a brief summary. Like we said this appears to be a full-fledged weather tool as it will come with predictions throughout the day at different times, as well as offer up information about the rest of the week.

The information seems to have been sourced from the Weather.com website. According to a Facebook spokesperson, “We are doing this because our goal is to develop products that connect people to the things they care about most and create moments of joy in people’s day, like simply telling you that it’s going to rain later.”
