Bethesda is a company known for their PC and console games, so you can imagine that it was a bit of a surprise when back in 2015, the company announced Fallout Shelter, a mobile game based on the Fallout franchise that was launched ahead of Fallout 4’s release. The good news for non-mobile gamers is that you can soon expect to play it on other platforms.In an announcement on the Xbox website, Microsoft has revealed that come 7th of February, 2017, gamers will be able to play the game on the Xbox One and Windows 10 computers. But wait, wasn’t the game already released for the PC? Back in 2016 Bethesda did indeed release it for the PC, but on the 7th of February it can be downloaded from either the Xbox or Windows Store if those are your preferred platforms.
According to Microsoft, “Fallout Shelter thrusts players into the role of Overseer to build their own Vault, manage dwellers, and adventure through Fallout’s iconic wasteland. Since the game’s original launch in 2015, the game has continued to expand and add features, including Crafting, Scrapping, Pets, additional rooms, iconic Fallout 4 characters, and special Dweller customization options.”
The game is also an Xbox Play Anywhere title which means that you can play it on the Xbox One and pick up where you left off on your Windows 10 PC, which means that your saves, progress, achievements, and more will be the same regardless of which platform you choose. It will be a free-to-play title with in-app purchases in the form of Lunchboxes.
