So far reactions from the industry with regards to the Nintendo Switch have been largely positive, with quite a few big name developers and publishers praising the console and its possibilities. The latest to offer their praise comes from Final Fantasy XV’s director Hajime Tabata, who in an interview with Polygon called the Switch a “dream machine”.

According to Tabata, “I’ve worked on handheld titles, but I’ve also worked on console games. So the fact that Switch is both at the same time is really fascinating to me. I’m really interested in coming up with ideas and how to capitalize on that technology and how to create the best experience possible on the technology. But I’m not quite sure that I have it yet.”

However before you get too excited about Final Fantasy XV coming onto the Switch, Tabata says that he isn’t working on anything at the moment, but he and his team are definitely interested in it. “While I may not be working on anything for it at this point in time, a lot of people on the staff are really interested in the Switch. Myself included!”

We guess we’ll have to wait for the console’s release and to see how well-received it is before we see more developers and publishers hop on board. Even EA who will be releasing a game for the Switch has tempered their expectations somewhat, with more games planned at a later date once the “platform launches and takes off”.
