Grand Theft Auto 4 is a very popular game in this epic Rockstar franchise. Microsoft has now confirmed that this title, which was previously only compatible with its Xbox 360, is now backwards compatible on the Xbox One. This means that Xbox One owners can now play GTA 4 on their consoles. It’s not just the full game itself, the two expansions namely The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony are also backwards compatible on the Xbox One.

Grand Theft Auto 4 puts players in the midst of the action with characters like Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz and Luis Lopez who are all playable now on the Xbox One courtesy of backwards compatibility.

Microsoft has confirmed that all versions of this game are compatible with the Xbox One, including the Grand Theft Auto 4: The Complete Edition. Digital game owners will have access on Xbox One so they will be able to download the game directly from the “Ready to Install” section of their console.

Those who own they disc can insert the Xbox 360 game disc into the Xbox One and download the game. All original game saves will also be transferred to the Xbox One provided that you’ve saved them to the Cloud Saved Games feature on Xbox 360.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is also available for download on the Xbox One right now via the Xbox Store.
