Crossover games aren’t new, and to a certain extent they’re actually pretty fun especially if you’re a fan of both franchises. A good example would be Marvel VS Capcom: Infinite that was recently announced for 2017 in which we’ll see Marvel character take on Capcom characters. So the question is, where does Mortal Kombat fit into this crossover scene?

During a recent episode of IGN Unfiltered, NetherRealm’s Ed Boon was asked the question about what he thought about the idea of a Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter crossover. The good news is that Boon seems to be open to the idea, but the bad news is that Boon is realistic enough to realize that it might never happen.

According to Boon, he would definitely entertain the idea should Capcom come knocking on their doors. However he also said, “There’s part of me that’s like, ‘That would be such a cool dream,’ and then there’s another part of me that goes, ‘There’s no way would that satisfy everybody.’”

An example would be how violent Mortal Kombat is, and how both games are paced differently, as well as how they are both fundamentally very different games. He also adds how usually in  crossovers something will have to be sacrificed, in which he said, “I don’t know if we’d be able to find that sweet spot.” But what do you guys think? Is a Mortal Kombat VS Street Fighter game something you’d like to see in the future?
