LED notification lights aren’t new. In fact many companies have included it in their phones in the past, although for the most part they have been rather subtle in nature. However an Indiegogo campaign for a Moto Mod called the “Edge” wants to change that by giving your Moto Z handset an LED light strip.

As you can see in the video above, the Edge Moto Mod is anything but subtle. However if you do enjoy having this kind of bling and attention, why not? However there is a benefit to having it so obvious, and that is you’ll know that you have a notification waiting for you and you don’t have to pick up your phone to see it, unless you want to attend to it.

It is also completely customizable which means that you can set different lights for different apps and notifications, so if you’re looking to only attend to your phone when you are receiving emails, you can set email notifications to a different light so you know when you should check your phone.

There are also various light patterns that users can choose from so you’ll be able to further customize its look depending on your needs. At the moment there are two versions that you can choose from: the Edge Force or the Edge Air. The former will give users an extra 2,000mAh battery, while the latter gives the Moto Z wireless charging capabilities. If you want to pledge your support, head on over to its Indiegogo page for the details.
