Back in 2016, we were treated to quite a few “Ghost in the Shell” trailers, but if you’re after something a little more “meaty” and substantial, you’ll be pleased to learn that a new official trailer for the upcoming for the movie has been released, giving us a glimpse at what we will be able to expect from it.

The movie is expected to be released in cinemas come 31st of March, 2017. It will be starring Scarlett Johansson in the lead role, a decision that has been on the receiving end of quite a lot of criticism. This is because many felt that since the original manga/anime was Japanese that at the very least an Asian actress should have been cast in the lead role.

The decision to cast Johansson led many to claim that this was yet another instance of Hollywood “whitewashing” the movie industry. However despite this, the publisher of Ghost in the Shell felt that the choice to cast Johansson was a good one, and that they never imagined that it would be a Japanese actress in the first place.

Controversy aside, from what we can tell in the trailer, it looks like they have done a pretty good job so far. Hopefully the end results will be the same. That being said, who else is looking forward to seeing it upon its release?
