When it comes to gaming hardware, NVIDIA and AMD are usually seen as rivals to one another, especially in the GPU department. Now recently AMD confirmed the pricing and availability of its Ryzen processors, and it seems that NVIDIA isn’t going to let its rival show them up because they’ll be hosting an event on the same day.

AMD is expected to host a “Capsaicin” livestream to talk about its Radeon Vega at GDC which takes place on the 28th of February, and like we said NVIDIA isn’t going to let AMD steal the show as they have similarly announced a GeForce event of their own. In fact the GeForce website now shows a countdown timer for an announcement on the 28th of February as well.

As to what will be announced, NVIDIA did not say but it seems that we could be looking at the new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU. This is according to the folks at Videocardz who discovered that the video playing in the background of NVIDIA’s website is called “GTX1080Ti_Countdown_Hero”. Also as you can see in the screenshot above of NVIDIA’s GeForce website, the “Ti” in the “It’s almost Time” caption is bolded, which seems to allude to the GTX 1080p Ti card.

Of course since none of this has been confirmed it’s really anyone’s guess at the moment, although all the evidence does make it pretty obvious. Either way we’ll find out more come 28th of February so check back with us then for the details.
