NVIDIA has been doing a great job over the past few weeks. It hasn’t been long since the company released its new Shield set-top boxes and later sent out the Nougat update for those boxes. The same Nougat update was later sent out fairly quickly to the previous-generation Shield TV as well. The company is now following through on this much-awaited update for those who own the NVIDIA Shield Tablet.

The company has confirmed that Shield Experience 5.0 is rolling out starting today to NVIDIA Shield Tablets. This is based on Android 7.0 Nougat. NVIDIA does mention that the rollout is going to be staged over the next few days so it will take some time before the update goes live in all regions.

Shield Experience 5.0 brings several new features for the Shield Tablet including but not limited to bundled notifications, multi-window support, quick reply, improved notification management, battery performance enhancements, an improved doze mode, and much more.

This update also adds support for the new Shield Controller to the tablet, it’s the one that the company is shipping with the new Shield set-top box. This update is being rolled out to both the Tablet and Tablet K1 owners starting today. If you haven’t received an update notification just yet on your Shield Tablet, be patient as it will arrive soon.
