When it comes to calendars, there are quite a few different services to choose from and it really depends on the platform that you are working most on. If you use Microsoft’s Outlook services quite frequently for your email and scheduling your appointments, then you might be interested to learn that Amazon Echo can now use Outlook’s calendar as its default.

It should be pointed out that this isn’t just limited to the Amazon Echo as basically any Alexa-powered device should have no problems syncing their Outlook calendar with it. According to Microsoft, this will also apply to users with email addresses that end with @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, and @live.com, so if you have any of these emails and use the calendar feature, you can now use it with Echo/Alexa-powered devices.

The skill page on Amazon’s website lists several different commands that users can use. This includes asking about upcoming events, asking about events on specific days, or adding events to your calendar. This will be handy if you don’t have your phone with you or if you aren’t on your computer, and since they’re linked, whatever you add via the Echo/Alexa should be reflected on the calendar on your phone or computer (if you use Outlook).

These new features should already be live so do check it out if this is something you might be interested in.
